Itero Group Sponsors Women in Tech Scholarships; Awards $4,500 to Three Recipients

Updated: Feb 29

Itero Group is proud to have once again sponsored The Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania’s Women in Tech (WIT) Scholarships. These scholarships are awarded to encourage women to continue to excel in technology-related disciplines, such as computing, engineering, and life sciences.

The WIT Awards are part of the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania’s broader Women in Technology initiative, which strives to create an inclusive and level playing field, regardless of gender, within the technology industry. One scholarship is awarded to a non-traditional age student, while two scholarships are awarded to traditional-age students.

This year’s scholarship recipients are:

Shokhinabonu Tojieva, Franklin and Marshall College

Natalie Barlow, Elizabethtown College

Anne Nguyen, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology

Scholarship winner Anne Nguyen says not only will the scholarship help her and her family financially, it also helps her confidence as she transitions from being a student to a working professional. “It’s extremely encouraging and motivating that a group of people believed in me, my work, and where I currently am on my career path,” she said.

“As a minority and a woman, I’ve encountered unique challenges along my journey, and at times, it can be easy to lose sight of one’s aspirations,” said scholarship winner Shokhinabonu Tojeva. “However, opportunities like this scholarship serve as beacons of inspiration, affirming that hard work and perseverance do indeed yield remarkable results. Through this recognition, I aspire to foster meaningful connections and share experiences with fellow aspiring women, learning from their diverse perspectives while also offering inspiration and support,” she said.

“As these intelligent, accomplished women have stated, the scholarships sponsored by Itero Group are designed to inspire and support the future of women in technology,” said Terri Bailoni, Itero Group President. “We hope these WIT scholarships help give women the financial means AND the confidence to further their education and pursue careers in technology-related fields.”

The three winners will be honored during the 6th Annual Women in Technology Awards event on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023, in Harrisburg, PA. More information on the awards and the event can be found here.
